Well its been a while since I saw a good metal show. Yes yes I'm aware I just saw Ozzy with Rob Zombie on October 24 but when I say a good metal show, I mean the kind of metal that makes you want to break shit! The kind of metal that WON'T ever be played on the radio!
Well last night I saw a killer metal show...
Since my friend Cara will eventually post a review of the show in yet another installment of the "Chicken Concert Series", there is no need for me to post a review of the show because 1) being repetitive sucks and 2) I'm lazy. So I'll just leave you with some random thoughts...
1) Ex-Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares's new band Divine Heresy kicked major ass.2) Hardcore dancing is still hilarious!3) The ratio of girls to guys at metal shows needs to be raised!4) Being groped by random hot metal girls is still flattering!5) The unspoken rule of 'at least 1 black item of clothing at any metal show ' is still alive and well.6) Free shots kick ass.7) If you wear 'bling' at a metal show, you'll look like an idiot and will be mocked for it.8) Double kicks and guitar solo's still kick ass!9) Metal break downs are a sure way to get the head's a banging!10) Chanting 'I hate everyone' with a room full of people is awesome!
To give you some idea as to what last night was like, here's a video of Chimaira performing the song "Pure Hatred" off the album "The Impossibility of Reason" (2003). And just to let you know, this is where I got the idea for my infamous e-mail/blog address!
